"Sisterly Love," pastel commission

Specializing in my own FINE ART, of which the images at the top and bottom of this auction are samples. I have been a portrait painter in pastel and oil since 1989, for 20 years.
Miscellaneous items will be added occasionally on behalf of St. Francis Gift & Thrift Store, where I am a research volunteer.

Here for your consideration is Isabel of England, American Girl Kish by Pleasant Company, Girls of Many Lands, face painting by Nancy Lee Moran.

Isabel of England, American Girl as OOAK 9" doll

This DOLL: Isabel of England is 9" tall. She was produced from 2002 to 2005. She is retired. American Girl worked with doll sculptor Helen Kish to create dolls from eight countries, each with her own story adventure. It was a project that pleased Helen Kish, according to the book Helen Kish: The Artist and Her Dolls by Louise Fecher (hardcover published in 2006). The doll's garments are made with exceptional quality and can be removed.

OOAK Isabel is about 9 inches tall.

Go to this doll’s own page for more photos and information.
I purchased the doll NEW on eBay. She comes with a companion book about her life in 1592. Since the book has her age as twelve years, I made her facial paint look natural and youthful. Please understand that I am purchasing dolls at retail prices, just as you would. I am a portrait artist, not a doll distributor, dealer, or shop. I am NOT affiliated with any doll company, creator or manufacturer. The vinyl doll has five (5) points of articulation (joints): at her neck, shoulders and hips. She can stand by herself.
This doll will never be duplicated in my studio. If you look at the doll page on my website (Google: Nancy Lee Moran), you will see that each doll I have repainted is unique.
EYES: Her eyes are hazel umber, a delicate mix of many transparent layers. She has fine eyelashes (upper & lower) and feathered eyebrows using varied colors.

HAIR: Her rooted hair is warm brown and is in a snood. She has pretty earrings.

COLOR & PAINTING: Some computer screens may modify the color of the art. Some may make the image lighter or darker than it is. The doll will have finer detail and more subtle coloring than a computer-jpeg-photo shows. Yet I hope the photos tell her story as well as words.
After removing factory paint, I paint each doll face as delicately as I do my commissioned portraits of children. You may see examples at my website, if you GOOGLE my name, which will reassure you of my credentials in fine art since 1989. The website also has a NEW page of Repainted Dolls. I am using artist-grade alkyd-oil paints (in thin translucent glazes) with the addition of alkyd resin to make the paint surface become as flexible as the doll’s vinyl skin and to make it adhere well.

None of my oil pigments use lead or cadmium. Though I painted this doll for adult collectors, I wanted the paint to be safe around toddlers and babies.

Studio & Home: clean and smoke-free VINYL BODY She has joints at her hips, shoulders, and neck.

FINISH: Resin-oil glow (gloss) on eyes and lips. A thin veil of clear matte (non-shiny) varnish on rest of her face.

Please add me to your list of Favorite Sellers.

To see my other items, you may click "View seller's other items" button (at the top right hand side of this page) or see the "Item Showcase" on this page.

My future auctions of repainted Kish dolls will be for Rio, Riley, and for doll commissions.

Would you like to receive an email from eBay when I list other art and dolls for sale? Click: View seller's other items (found at the top right of the eBay page across from the auction listing). Then click Save this search (found in small blue letters by "Items Found") to your My eBay.

Doll and Portrait commissions are welcome.

I will be limiting the number of dolls I paint, since gallery oil paintings and portrait commissions take most of my time. I will continue to paint dolls, however, for the happiness it brings to me.

I usually go on-line twice a day, since I must devote most time to family and paintings. I request, therefore, your patience in my answering questions on-line.

Caution: Prolonged sunlight and fluorescent lights may cause colors to fade. Heat, high humidity, and dampness will also damage dolls. Cardboard has acid content, which means that a doll box is less-than-good for storing a doll. If you store your doll in the box, please wrap her in clean white cotton fabric first.

Payment within one week is requested.

I will ship worldwide if buyer uses PayPal. International shipping will be calculated and billed at actual cost. Whenever possible, I will insure it for a safe journey to you. COMBINED shipping is fine on multiple purchases. All work is guaranteed for quality. If item is returned within one week, I will refund the purchase price. The buyer will please pay shipping cost (with insurance) for safe arrival back to me.
