The Eco-baby Wrap

The wrap is about 45 cm wide and a generous 5 m long, which allows for numerous ways of carrying babies and toddlers, front, side and back. Tying with a long piece of material is the oldest and most widely used way of carrying young ones, tested for centuries in cultures al over the world.

fThe jersey material is made of 45% hemp and 55% organic cotton. Industrial hemp is the longest, strongest most durable natural fiber known to man, uses a fraction of water compared to cotton and does not require pesticides or herbicides when grown. It is therefore not only good for you and your baby and toddler, for bonding, settling etc, but it is also a good choice for the planet. In addition hemp has properties that make it especially suitable for this use: It has natural anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. It is very breathable, making it warm in winter and cool in summer. It has not been bleached and dyed, making it suitable even for the most sensitive baby skin.

I will always try to send the item no later than the day after payment clears, however, keeping in mind that I'm a mother of young children, things don't always go to plan, so occasionally it may take a couple of days. If you still haven't received your item after a week, please let me know as things do sometimes go missing in the mail, or it may sometimes be my baby-brain, in which case I'm very sorry and will correct it as soon as possible.

Are you wondering where the name fordicia comes from and what it means? The Fordicia, also called Hordicidia, was a Roman festival for the goddess Tellus held on April 15. Terra Mater or Tellus Mater was a goddess personifying the Earth in Roman mythology, with both names meaning "Mother Earth" (a common metaphorical expression for the Earth and its biosphere as the giver and sustainer of life) in Latin. Tellus Mater was responsible for the productivity of farmland, and was also associated with marriage, motherhood, pregnant women, and pregnant animals.
