The fan-forced, horizontal drying system is mounted in the rear of the machine to provide a more complete and even drying. Cheaper dehydrators have their heaters on the bottom, which causes flavor mixing, not to mention a the difference in temperature between higher and lower trays.

Parallexx™ Horizontal-Airflow Drying System
The fan, heating element, and adjustable thermostat are mounted in the rear. Cool air is drawn in the back, heated up, and distributed evenly across each tray. During the dehydration process, warm air removes moisture from foods and is pushed out the front of the machine. |
Typical Round Dehydrator
Normal drips fall on the electrical controls beneath the food. This can cause electrical problems as well as being very difficult to clean. The more trays that are added, the further the food is away from the heat, dramatically increasing the drying time, and requiring frequent tray rotation day and night to prevent spoilage. Who wants to BABYSIT their dehydrator?! |
The square tray design makes loading easier and increases drying area by avoiding holes in the center. Door and trays can be removed for convenient loading and cleaning, or to expand drying chamber.
Simply remove some of the trays and you can dehydrate whole fruits or flower bouquets! Can also be used to develop photographic negatives and make cake decorations!
 The adjustable thermostat allows a range of temperatures (85° - 145° F) for drying a variety of foods, from herbs to yogurt to jerky. Polycarbonate trays and removable door make cleaning up easy. |
