This exquisite Raku vase is 9 3/8-inches high and 6 1/2-inches wide with a wide, flared rim, a slight tier at the collar and footed base. Leland has mixed up another new semi-gloss copper glaze that has proven to be not only a spectacular performer featuring more metallic flashing and even more variegation in color, but also provides him a bit more control and consistency. The hues of turquoise, blue, gunmetal, violet, magenta, gold and copper are much more vivid and bright and still features decorative splashes of marbleized gloss gold and copper, but also has varying surface texture. Signed and dated by the artist. Total satisfaction with all purchases is our ultimate goal.

Leland Hall

Leland has been working with clay for over 20-years, and his work is being internationally collected.

Leland is inspired by the ancient pottery traditions of the Japanese Raku masters, his Native American ancestors, and living in harmony with the rhythms of nature amid the majestic Cascade Mountains of Central Oregon.

Leland has always created his own glaze mixtures, but now he is manufacturing his own clay. The results are most pleasing - lighter vessels and a brighter, clearer and prettier glaze response.

Raku Information

Raku ware is pulled from the kiln red hot and subjected to rapid cooling and smoking in an oxygen starved atmosphere, resulting in sometimes unpredictable and hopefully spectacular chemical changes in the glaze. Raku ware is porous and not suitable for use with food or liquid!

All pieces are handmade using a potter's wheel or slab roller. The glazes and clay are made by the artist using raw materials.

All the work you see here is of Gallery or Art Show quality, unless otherwise designated as a "Potter's 2nd."

Since working with galleries for quite a few years, we have developed a pretty good eye for the retail value of each piece. We try to keep our ebay starting bid at approximately 50% of our estimated gallery price; a fantastic savings for the avid collector.
