This is a very BEAUTIFUL VERY LARGE example of a GOTHIC New Haven Mantle Clock in NEEDS SOME HELP condition.

This is a very rare model. It has WESTMINSTER CHIMES and is in 100% ALL-ORIGINAL NEAR PERFECT CONDITION. It is one of the high end very large models and was made circa 1923, made very well with high quality materials and construction. This fine clock needs a home but needs the strike spring replaced. The time and chime work fine and we had the strike working until suddenly the spring broke! Looks almost like brand new with a super antique patina on the original finish. It is a very happy mantle clock in need of a warm loving home. Runs great with a wide happy pendulum swing!

Sounds wonderful, sounding the Westminster chimes every quarter hour on 5 chime rods.

Has a very beautiful mellow sound that is not too loud but can be easily heard. The clock has a very quiet way it ticks also. With a “well made and heavy duty” signed "New Haven Clock Co” 8-day time and strike movement with Westminster Chimes. The movement is nice and clean and runs well! The clock strikes on the quarter-hour and counts the hours on the hour on chime rods with a beautiful sound. It plays 4 notes at the first ¼, 8 notes on the half hour, 12 notes on the ¾ hour and 16 notes plus strikes the hour on the hour with a beautiful chord! It measures 9 ½ inches high 19 inches wide and 5 ½ inches deep.

The case is in superior beautiful condition with its original back door with the original fabric in the sound hole!

The case is made of dark rich mahogany in near perfect condition. It has a couple small scratches on the top. It has a very beautiful original finish. The clock has its original bezel with a great antique patina. The silver dial is original, outstanding numbers and also is in the best condition of one of these fancy dials we have seen. The dial also has an adjustment for slow and fast – also chime and silent – great for when you have guests stay over that are not used to a chiming clock at night. Also a place to adjust the clock for slow and fast. The back door is also in superior condition.

Everything is original to the case

– there are no extra screw holes. The metal around the dial (bezel) is original (no extra screw holes). Complete with the its original adjustable pendulum (quite rare for a clock to still have its original pendulum) and a new American double ended key – one end to wind the clock and the other to adjust the clock for chime and silent and slow and fast on the dial – you don't have to take the clock down off the mantel in order to adjust it for slow and fast! If you are "handy" with clocks or know a good clock maker this is a good clock for you! These antique clocks amaze me - could you imagine any other consumer product still working after over 80 years! And the truly amazing thing with proper care they will work easily past the next 200 years! If you are looking for an antique clock that runs well – this is it!

Antique Clocks are a Fine Investment.

Each one has a unique quality, as well as appreciating in value and beauty with age. You will become attached to your antique clocks and they will become a meaningful and important part of your life adding untold joy each day you own them. They can be handed down from one generation to another as they increase daily in value. Antique clocks serve many purposes other than being useful in telling time, decorative in your home, a valuable asset in your estate and above all a faithful servant and friend which will be true to you to the end of time.

This clock will be packed very carefully to insure a safe delivery >

and the buyer is to pay $23.50 for shipping and ins. I will gladly answer any emails promptly. I have always hated that "reserve" when I have bid myself so this fine clock has no reserve and a very very low (gulp) starting bid. We love these clocks and I will be glad to help you set up your new clock, or answer questions long after the sale via email.
