This auction is for a copy of a new publication of master Kano Hogai's work. I've had a lot of request for Hogai lately and was very pleased that this company put out a survey book because he is one of my favorites. A 19th Century Japanese Painter, Hogai is famous for his painted screens. Copuious amounts of gold leaf enhance his brilliantly crafted Japanese trees, birds, flowers, animals, landscapes and absolutely stunning buddhist gods and goddesses. This is a really cool book. One of my new favorites. Book is soft cover and brand new. 8.5" x 11 and 172 pages. Reads left to right, Japanese style and all text is in Japanese.
