"The new Bigdate GMT is not just any watch featuring the currently trendy oversized date – this is the large date executed in Martin Braun’s own unique style. The Bigdate GMT features a new, innovative module that powers both the date and GMT functions, making it one of the first wristwatches to allow the wearer to adjust both the date and the GMT time using only the crown. The date is quickset by the crown in one position, and the GMT time zone is adjusted by winding the crown backward in the same position. As a result, the Bigdate GMT does not require a corrector."

 

A barleycorn pattern has been cut in the center of the guilloche' dial, joined by a type of sunburst decoration within the scale designated for the second time zone. The guilloché dial is available in three versions.

The decorations are geometric in nature, and there are countless variations of them. Even though a small, hand-cranked machine is used to create the pattern, the object is moved against the graver by the artisan’s hand, which also determines the depth and regularity of the cut. Rose engines have not been manufactured for more than fifty years, and the art of guilloché (the French term for engine-turning) itself is just as rare. There are currently only two artisans in Germany who are capable of creating dials using this vintage technique.
