The father of omega watch company, Louis Brandt opened his first 'pocket
omega watch' assembly workshop at La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848.

The Seamaster is the watch for those whose world revolves around the
ocean. Whether measuring an apnea diver's single breath hold or counting

in the ocean's harsh environment.

OMEGA's line of water resistant watches dates all the way back to 1932.
The Seamaster name was introduced in 1947. Up through the 1960's, the
Seamaster models paralleled the traditional style of dress watches, such
as the OMEGA DeVille (some were even labeled as a 'Seamaster DeVille').
While these watches were water resistant (back then, they could still
use the term 'water-proof'), few had functions other than basic display
of the time and occasionally the date.

In the 1970's, OMEGA took the Seamaster line in a much sportier and
often trendier direction. During this decade, Seamasters took on a heavy
sport and functional look and came with more diver-oriented features,
such as higher depth ratings, calibrated rotating bezels, chronograph
functions, and high-visibility dials.

OMEGA's current Seamaster line consists of the Seamaster Aqua Terra with
150 meter water resistance and the Seamaster Professional series
(introduced in 1993) with 300 meter water resistance and diving-oriented
features in a sports watch style.

Omega watches are proud to be endorsed by many of the world's leading

The Omega Seamaster watch made its first Black screen debut in1995 in
the James Bond 007 movie Goldeneye.

Co-Axial Movement:In 1999 the new Omega De Ville was introduced with a
movement that was entirely new to an Omega series produced watch.
Co-Axial watch with the magnificent coaxial escapement invented by the
noted English watchmaker Dr. George Daniels,is highly accurate,
resistant to shocks and requires little maintenance.
In brief, the coaxial escapement eliminates practically all friction
between the pallets wheel and the pallets, which had long been a source
of lubrication problems in mechanical watches. The result is a longer
lifetime for the movement and its increased accuracy.

Watch functions:
The crown has 3 positions:
Position 1 : Normal position. If the watch has a screw lock crown,you
will need to unscrew the crown by turning it counterclockwise before
you can pull it out.
Position 2 : Pull the crown out to the first click.
Position 3 : Pull the crown out to the second click.

Normal position (wearing position): when pushed into the case, the crown
ensures that the watch is water-resistant.

Date setting: pull the crown out to position 2. Turn the crown forwards
or backwards, the hour hand moves forwards or backwards in one-hour
jumps. Push the crown back to position 1.

Time setting: hours - minutes - seconds.
Pull the crown out to position 3. The seconds hand will stop.
Turn the crown forwards or backwards. Synchronise the seconds by pushing
the crown back to position 1 to coincide with a given time signal.

modified by Omega. Omega has long added two jewels to the ETA design for

Important:
Screw-in crown:
Some watches are fitted with a screw-in crown which should be unscrewed
before use. After use, push the crown into position 1 then press and
screw back in (water-resistance).

Date setting:
Never change the date manually when the hour hand is about the 9 and 3..
Adjusting the date with the quick-set can damage the movement in this
position.
