PATTERN "V" is a five-in-one pattern
that is specifically for the ALL VINYL Berenguer dolls:

21" Special Edition
17" Lots to Love
17" LaNewborn or LaNewborn Moments
15" Carry Me LaNewborn
14" Lots to Love

There are five body sizes in this pattern. The vinyl arms, legs and head of the doll are attached to the cloth body using cable ties. Does not require doll joints.

We are especially pleased with the way these cloth bodies allow the arms and legs to move easily. The arms are especially poseable: they can be moved forward and backward, up or down and if the cable ties are not too snug then the arms can rotate also. Special pleats at the shoulders and hips allow more freedom of movement. The finished doll is very poseable and flexible. It has almost as much freedom of movement as the cloth-jointed doll bodies.

The Special Edition doll is fun to hold, because the finished doll is soft, cuddly and the arms and legs move and flop almost like a real infant.

SIZE & CLOTHING: The body for the large 21" Special Edition dolls wears Preemie or Newborn Small size clothing when the doll is finished. The doll in the photo is wearing a size small Onesie. The Special Edition dolls have legs that are large and long. Pattern "V" takes the long legs into consideration, so the the finished doll does appear proportionate.

SIZE & CLOTHING: The reborn artists have asked for more flexibility and movement in the doll body. And, they also asked for a doll body that would stretch the 17" dolls to a preemie size. Pattern "V" has both. The 17" size doll is shown wearing a preemie size Onesie, which is a very good fit.

SIZE & CLOTHING: The 17" Lots to Love vinyl doll is wearing a size Small Onesie. It's very difficult to make this doll proportionate. I prefer Pattern J for the large 17" Lots to Love dolls, because it's possible to make the arms and legs longer using that pattern. But, Pattern "V" does make a nice size chubby babydoll.  (We are also offering Pattern J on auction, for JOINTED cloth doll bodies.)

SIZE & CLOTHING: The Carry Me LaNewborn dolls are not very common (sold at KB stores only) and they have an uncommon size also: the vinyl dolls are 15" and smaller than all the other Berenguer LaNewborns. Pattern "V" has a smaller body just for these little cuties, and the doll is still able to wear a preemie size Onesie as shown in the photo. These little preemie babies really are a sweet size.

SIZE & CLOTHING: This 14" Lots to Love asian doll is not the kind of baby who sits around taking naps. She's ready to kick up her heels and flail her arms. And, she can do that with this flexible cloth body. Little asian SooSoo has never had such freedom of movement. This doll body size wears doll clothes.

THE WRINKLED RUMP: All the Pattern "V" doll bodies have the wrinkled rump, which is easily stitched in with 1/4 inch elastic. This feature helps to give shape and definition to the baby's rear.

STUFFING.The doll bodies can be stiff for sitting dolls or floppy for sleeping babies, depending on the kinds of stuffing used. If you use mostly polyester fiberfill, with some beanbags for weight then the doll sits very well, as shown in the photos. If you use more of the plastic beans for fill and weighting, then the dolls will be more floppy.

The pattern uses conventional sewing techniques.
