RIETZE HO (1:87)
FORD SCORPIO
Special Edition: 46 Spielwarenmesse Nürnberg
Made in Germany by Rietze (Rietze Modelle/RM) one of the smaller manufacturers who seem to try twice as hard to find a niche market against the "big guys" (Wiking and Herpa).
|
Rietze started out by making models the other German manufacturers ignored - they had their first great success with a Mitsubishi L300.
They continued in this way, but soon started adding more "mainline" models as well - a necessity on the German market, I suppose. But they always remained true to their principles of doing things just a little differently, providing us with beautiful alternatives to the products from the others. |
A popular medium-sized sedan in a special edition released for the 46th Nuremberg toy fair. The inscription on the pedestal reads:
Vielen Dank für Ihren Besuch auf der 46. Spielwarenmesse Nürnberg. Ihr Rietze-Team. (Thank you very much for your visit to the 46th Toy Fair in Nuremberg. Your Rietze Team).
What is unusual about this model is that the body is made of a clear plastic with silver specs in the plastic material (which creates a random pattern of metallic reflections). This allows us to look inside the model to see its interior.
The rest of the body is normal (i.e. clear headlight inserts, coloured rear light cluster inserts, black rear license plate, detailed silver-grey hubs and black tires. Very fine body details, including super-fine wipers, external mirrors, etc. Details in glass areas.) There is a clear view of the detailed black interior (probably best viewed through a magnifying glass).
