NEW/SEALED CD ~ Ringo Starr ~ VH1 Storytellers
Description: Scroll down for full track description
Edition: Full length NEW SEALED CD with jewel case Recorded live at Sony Studios, New York, New York. Just as Unplugged is to MTV, Storytellers is to older-skewing cable sister VH1. But rather than simply featuring acoustic performances, VH1's program forces the performer to discuss the stories behind particular songs. Enter Ringo Starr and his knack for well-turned quips and delicious sense of humor. Backed by a band that features guitarist Joe Walsh, Night Ranger's Jack Blades on bass and Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke, Starr chose songs spanning his career for this tight set. Admirably, a number of these songs come from VERTICAL MAN, the studio album that preceded VH1 STORYTELLERS by a few months. These include "King of Broken Hearts" and "La De Da," both co-written by Starr, who showed his songwriting muscles to be far from atrophied. This being an interactive segment, Richard Starkey the raconteur was in his element. "Back Off Boogalo" was accompanied by an anecdote concerning the late Marc Bolan providing inspiration for the song, and how a vacation to Sardinia resulted in the penning of "Octopus' Garden."

Insurance is optional for domestic bidders, and mandatory for international bidders. It protects you against loss, damage, and replacement/refund of defective items. Defective items purchased without insurance must be returned to the manufacturer for replacement All sales are final, no returns, no exchanges, no refunds. Please ask all questions before bidding :) Some of our stock comes from music clubs, therefore it may have a different or missing UPC code. The track listing, artwork, and product is guarenteed EXACTLY the same as the retail version. We DO NOT sell burned copies, ALL our product comes from legitimate US companies and/or verified private collectors. The bidder should bear in mind that many vintage recordings, whether remastered or not, were analog, and therefore, even if remastered may have surface noise. Because Muse is frequently updated, and often incorrect, the bidder should rely on the information provided within the sellers description as the more reliable information.

Simply perfect!
Condition is a subjective thing.. We use a modified version of the Goldmine grading standard. It is modified because we are unable to play every vintage vinyl listing. Our system is based on a conversative visual inspection as follows: Mint: Absolutely perfect in every way, we would only use this grade with a sealed item Near Mint: No obvious signs of play/wear. VG+: Some signs of play, possibly some slight scuffs or very light scratches that shouldn't affect listening experience. VG: Possible surface noise upon play, light scratches. Good: Probable surface noise, scratches and/or visible groove wear. Caution abounds
Label and sleeve condition is noted within the item description. Label scans are for detail only, we do not have a high detail scanner, show image often shows worse than item actually is!
We do not list poor/fair condition vinyl (although as yet we haven't even come across one in this condition in this collection!) unless very rare or highly collectible
We do not know how the purchased item will sound when played by the buyer. We can only make reasonable inference on the record's condition based on its visual appearance. The bidders should be cautioned that every bid carries a risk that the purchased item will underperform, or play worse than its visual grade may indicate. In addition, play-grading standards are utterly subjective: one bidders light, tolerable surface noise is another bidders unbearable, degrading clatter. Our grading standards are not subject to dispute or debate, either during or after the auction. Bidders who have any doubts that our grading is up to their standards should either seek clarification from us while the auction is still in progress, or refrain from bidding altogether.

Editorial reviews
...How out of character to hear him employ the Storytellers format to flip through his Beatles and solo songbook. It's his yarns, though, that are most engaging....A nice retrospective of an underappreciated composer. - Rating: B Entertainment Weekly (11/06/1998)
