When climbers first summitted Everest, the clothing of choice was made from itchy wool, gabardine, and waxed cotton. Today you have a variety of options when it comes to staying comfortable in ever-changing mountain weather. One of the most versatile is the soft shell. Compared to a traditional hard shell, soft shells are warmer, softer, stretchier and more breathable. Most importantly, they work equally well as outerwear in all but the hardest rain, or for layering underneath a hard shell for the ultimate in wintertime versatility. If you are involved with active winter pursuits, you'll wonder what you ever did without a breathable, stretchy soft shell once you own one.
The Khangri jacket from Sherpa Adventure Gear is a hooded soft shell jacket with style to match its function. It features four-way stretch fabric on the outside, soft polyester fleece on the inside, and a breathable, wind-resistant and water-repellent membrane sandwiched in between, making it a versatile favorite of climbers on a wide variety of alpine peaks. The Khangri jacket will keep you warm and comfortable while climbing, trekking, backpacking, backcountry skiing, ice climbing, and summit bagging. Use it alone during milder temps or periods of high exertion, then keep it on underneath a hard shell during extreme conditions for a totally bombproof outerwear system.

About Sherpa Adventure Gear
Sherpa Adventure Gear was inspired by the many unsung Sherpa heroes of Mount Everest. From the start, Sherpa Adventure Gear's goal has been to create outstanding outdoor clothing and gear you can depend on. But more than this, they want to show you a glimpse of the Sherpa culture and way of life. At the same time, they are committed to supporting Sherpa communities throughout the Himalayas. Whether you are looking for gear on your next adventure, or just want to learn more about the Sherpa people, you can discover all this on the Sherpa Adventure Gear website.
All of Sherpa Adventure Gear's products are designed and developed with the help of real Sherpa Athletes. Then they are tested in the rugged conditions of the Himalaya. Much like having your very own Sherpa guide, you can count on every piece to be there for you—wherever your adventures take you.
Sherpa Adventure Gear's Honorable Commitment
From the early days of Sir Edmund Hillary's first successful summit, to modern mountaineers’ attempts on treacherous Himalayan peaks, these incredible high-altitude climbers have been there in every step of the way—guiding, hauling food and gear, setting ropes, and rescuing sick and injured climbers.
Unfortunately even though climbers pay thousands of dollars for permits and guides, Sherpas still often live in impoverished conditions. And it is their children who suffer most when a Sherpa guide is injured or killed in a climbing accident
In order to honor their heroic feats, Sherpa Adventure Gear has partnered with Alpine Ascents to donate up to $.50 for every item sold to The Sherpa Education Fund. SAG is also in the process of setting up additional non-profit partnerships to benefit the health, education, and welfare of underprivileged Sherpa children.
In addition to this, they employ local Sherpas in their office in Katmandu, and contract with Sherpa artisans to create their beautiful, hand-made wool hats. Every Sherpa Adventure Gear product you buy makes a direct impact on the lives of these amazing people.

Shipping and Tracking
Throughout the 2009 / 2010 ski season, all ski and ski boot purchases will ship absolutely FREE within the USA!! This is our way of saying thanks for keeping the US ski industry moving along with the energy it deserves. Standard shipping rates still apply to most of our other items such as bindings, outerwear, accessories, etc.
US Domestic Orders ship automatically with either UPS Ground, or USPS Priority / First Class. These carriers and services are the default shipping methods; however, we will happily make arrangements with a different carrier or service if you prefer or require it. Some additional charges may apply to special request shipping methods.
You will receive a shipping confirmation email with your specific package tracking information once your order has been processed and shipped. Please refer to this web-based tracking information for periodic updates if you require them.
International Ski Orders - Due to current size restrictions, USPS will no longer ship packages longer than 150 cm to any country outside of the US and Canada. Therefore, either UPS or FedEX must be used instead. We are more than happy to ship skis anywhere in the world, but we urge you to obtain a relevant price quote from us before placing your order, as UPS and FedEX can generally be rather expensive. For your reference, the average weight of one pair of packaged skis is 20 pounds (9 kg). As an example, you should anticipate an approximate cost of $150 - $250 US to have skis longer than 150 cm shipped to most destinations in Europe. International shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
