Full-skirted party dress from Jessica McClintock's Gunne Sax line. Constructed of black velvet and iridescent blue-green taffeta, the fitted bodice comes to a point in front; the top features a big bow in front with off-the shoulder bands and spaghetti straps. (Our armless mannequin doesn't do it justice.) The skirt has a full sweep, made fuller by a black net underskirt.   

New with old tags from Dayton's department store in Minneapolis. However, there are two small holes in the skirt (see last photos). One is a snag more than a hole, located about eight inches from the hem in the middle of the front; the other, located in the back about three inches from the hem, we backed with a snip of fabric and some Stitch Witchery. The flaws are pretty much lost in the folds of the skirt.

Please check the measurements rather than relying on the stated size. Garment measurements in inches taken with the item lying flat and horizontal measurements doubled: bust 36, waist 30, length from underarm to hem 34.
