HOW DO THEY WORK?
The Visiball lens technology combines basic principles of physics, visual physiology, and perception to significantly enhance the visibility of your golf ball. Four years of relentless testing and experimentation went into the development of our unique lens properties.

Visiball lenses have a special combination of pigments that cause white golf balls to emanate a ‘glow’ effect, making them much more visible than other objects in the background. This unique pigment combination also helps eliminate light reflecting off background objects, further enhancing the perceptibility of your golf ball.

The human eye sees colours based on spectral sensitivity curves that are specific to the two types of receptors of the retina, the rods and the cones. Visiball lenses specifically attenuate light reflecting off your golf ball and entering your eye to match the wavelengths that your retinal rods are most sensitive to.This is known as a 'Purkinje shift'.

Visiball technology also relies on visual selection to intensify the image of your errant golf ball. Visual selection relates to the amount of visual information that your brain can process in a short period of time. These two principles are combined in the Visiball lens technology to make your golf ball perceptibly brighter and the background darker, causing the ‘glow’effect mentioned above.

They are not X-ray glasses, meaning that if your ball is completely hidden behind a tree it will not be visible with Visiball lenses. Fortunately, however, errant golf balls are most often not completely hidden from the line of sight but rather are difficult to spot because of the high number of other objects in the field of view that our brains must screen out quickly while searching a large area. Because the ‘glowing’ golf balls are easier to see than the surrounding objects the Visiball lenses greatly increase the likelihood (and speed) of finding lost balls in the rough or underbrush.
