Wöhler is regarded as one of the most influential pioneers in organic chemistry due to his experiments synthesizing of urea. He was also able to isolate and discover aluminum in its purest form, which many other scientists before him were unable to accomplish. Friedrich's final achievements included the isolation of such elements as yttrium, beryllium, and titanium, and also discovered silicon and organic matter from meteorites.
