Swiss Jewelers is a family-run business located in an old school
shopping mall in Marina del Rey, CA, that's about the distance of a
seagull's dive from Santa Monica Bay

it's original proprietor was factory trained and certified by
Girard-Perregaux and had moved to the US a few years before, 
 so it was only natural that from 1969 to 1989, Swiss Jewelers
served as the sole authorized Girard-Perregaux service center
for the western half of the U. S. 

in 1982,  the shop custom ordered a staggering-looking His & Her 
set of Girard-Perregaux 18K white gold watches that shared
 smart, complementary  shapes and rich woven textures, 
adding diamonds where diamonds were deserved 

as it turned out, this gorgeous pair of watches was 'adopted'
more than it was put on the selling block, as it has sat in the
Swiss Jewelers' safe for most of the next 27 years, and only
occasionally making a guest appearance in the shop's
featured display case --- that is, until now:

watch is unworn and in New In Box + 26 Years condition
that includes incipient light crazing to enameled dial, a
condition that is consistent with a watch of thid age but by
no means is irreversible, given optional factory refirbishing 

it carries a One Year Limited warranty on
movement for parts and labor from the date of purchase,
except for damage caused by excessive wear and tear,
physical abuse and water resistance
