This is a rare and seldom encountered French Musician Short Sword Dagger which dates from the mid 19th Century. It is mounted with a double-edged blade that measures 13 3/4 inches in length which remains in nice condition with just a little minor staining. It wears nicely detailed fittings that are adorned with musical instruments on both sides. The pretty carved horn hilt reflects a little age wear nevertheless does remain sturdy the original twisted wire wrap still tightly in place. The leather scabbard wears simple brass fittings and remains healthy and in very good serviceable condition. Overall measuring 20 inches in length. There is no reserve.
