Daniel Day-Lewis is always worth watching, period. Beyond Mr. Day-Lewis, it is truly lovely having Sophia Loren back again (if only briefly) as the former's Mama. Marion Cotillard entrances, both musically and dramatically, as Luisa. My premiere reason for happily watching this DVD, however, was for the continuing appearance of Judi Dench as former Folies Bergere star Liliane LaFleure. Dame Judi adds a grand, if always subtle, flourish of deep enjoyment to all that she does. In turn, this enjoyment is absorbed by us, and we are all the richer for it. "Nine" is good, although my feeling is that director Rob Marshall has faltered badly from his (perhaps too) heady days of "Chicago." But perhaps comparing the two is unfair. At its worst (Kate Hudson, for instance, adds absolutely nothing to this film), "Nine" is non-addictive, but still quite watchable. At its best (Day-Lewis, Dench, Cotillard, Loren, and certainly Fergie in perhaps the film's single best number), "Nine" is memorable. So, my advice? Be Italian!Read full review
A terrific movie. Great acting and stunning musical performances from all in the cast. Director Rob Marshall (of 'Chicago' fame) did a superb job!

Odd movie. A little hard to follow, but all in all, I loved it. Chicago was better but still much talent to be seen and over all very , entertaining.
