The kit is complete with everything you need to get started. Kit includes: 1) pattern hand printed on monks cloth. 2) numbered and precut wool fabric, prewashed for a more durable rug 3) a hook by number chart and easy to follow instructions along with the instructions to finish it off. You could also make him into a mat or wall hanging if you didn't want to make the doll. I've seen it done in all those finishes and they are all adorable.
