Our philosophy on computer building is to get the best performance for the money. Yes, you can spend a LOT more for a system, but the performance increase will be negligible. Anyone pushing the high end stuff just wants you to waste your money. That's why there's a lot of places selling $6000-$7000 computers for video editing. They make the most money on the high-end equipment. Is it really worth spending 3 times as much on a computer just to shave a few seconds off? :) Even on large cuts and renders where it may take hours to process something, is there really a difference between a 7 hour render and a 7.5 hour render? Either way you're going to leave the computer alone while it does it's thing.
