Paperback booklet published by North Haven Bicentennial Commission in 1976. Written by LTC thomas I. Pearsall AUS Ret., a local historian and former military officer. Booklet is in Near Fine condition with no markings - pristine copy. Well-written history of the Revolutionary War period in the rural Connecticut area, and the long and bitter struggle waged there. 92-page booklet. Note the auction picture showing the Edith Wharton 9/5/1980 First Day Cancellation (FDC) on U.S. Scott #1832 15-cent stamp and also the 8/25/78 Circular Date Stamp (CDS) on U.S. Scott #1598 15-cent Americana U.S. Flag. The flag stamp has "THE LAND OF THE FREE - THE HOME OF THE BRAVE" printed on it, too. Proceeds benefit Lancaster PA Public Library.
