The image shows a shapely, beautiful nude model, in a very relaxed, reclining pose. Emphasis of the composition is the unusual position of the model. She is seen predominately at a slight foreshortened angle emphasizing her long legs and torso. The angle of foreshortening of this pose makes this image very interesting and different than most art nudes, especially the loose drawing method using charcoal. The nude is seen with one art at her side and the other resting by her pillow. The image has carefully contoured black lines defining the figure. The "museum quality" image emphasizes soft lights and shadows.

Biography of the Artist

William Helvey was born in 1942 and is a fine art photographer and professional artist. He has painted and photographed figurative and natural subjects throughout the nation. Helvey holds degrees in studio art and photography, and currently teaches adult drawing, painting and fine art photography classes. He is also an independent filmmaker and has received numerous awards for his films, photographs and artwork. Helvey has had more than eighty art exhibits and twenty-two photography solo exhibits during his forty years as a professional. His work is sought internationally by many private and corporate collectors in the United States, Brazil, United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Netherlands, Italy, France, Czechoslovakia, and Ireland. Helvey is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest and listed in America's Outstanding Professionals.
