In the pictures that we see here is a size 7 railroad ticket collectors hat from the New York, New Haven and Hartford Rail Road lines. To collectors it is known as the New Haven line. This hat is in pristine condition. There is extremely minimal staining or fading anywhere on the piece. There are no rips, tears or broken stitching. We believe it to be from the 1940's, it definitely pre-dates zip codes. The badge on the front of the hat has two small chips of enamel on the lettering, but nothing major by any means. The badge probably has a manufacturers name on the back of it, but we have not removed it from the hat. On the inside of the hat is the Wentworth Forman Company's plastic label. This particular hat is called the "Head Master". There is a label on the rim of the hat that says price, but there has been none written in. The other label that is harder to read in the pictures says that this is "An Original Cane Frame Head-Master, Patented and Manufactured by Wentworth- Forman Co. Inc., Boston, Mass." All of the cane is in perfect condition. Lastly, the sweatband is also perfect with no splits and the hat itself has clearly never been crushed or warped. The shape is Fabulous!!! This is an amazing hat, and would make a fabulous display piece for a uniform collector! xx195
