Absolutely gorgeous National Cash Register in super fine condition -- stunning! Brass register measures 17 inches high by 19 inches long by 16 inches wide -- NOT A REPRO. Serial -- 1404425, Model 356-G. I know nothing about registers -- this one came from a now defunct St. Petersburg, Florida, hotel, purchased by my father. I cannot find a manufacturer's date on this -- research dates it somewhere between January of 1914 and 1915. Condition -- gorgeous! Mechanisms work, bell chimes...side roll register. White marble is in mint condition -- no chips, no cracks, no repairs. There are two small glass chips on the top slab (thanks to the moving company!)...this machine has remained on display, not used, for many decades.
They are in
excellent condition and function as they should without any problem.
There is no rust or discoloration on the "amount" numbers -- see photo
of "70" . There is no discoloration -- they are white with
no yellowing or fading. This really is a magnificent piece that has
been lovingly cared for and never abused.
This is the original finish on this cash register. It does NOT need to be restored, unless, of course, a collector is really "into" restoring, just for hobby's sake!
Please ask any questions, and
I will make every attempt to find an answer for you -- I am not a cash
register expert by any means...this was on display in a bar, admired by
many, played with by none!
