Navajo Boulder Turquoise Silver Necklace Native America

This very stunning necklace was handcrafted by Navajo, Phillip Sanchez.  The Boulder Turquoise stone includes shades of caramel, tan, brown and gray with ribbons of Turquoise running through it.  This is a very interesting and unique stone.  It is set in sterling silver with a plain, simple bezel but mounted onto a carved base which highlights the stone.   

 

Boulder Turquoise is only found in the Royston mines of Nevada.  It is sometimes referred to as "Ribbon Turquoise" because of the distinctive ribbons or veins of turquoise that runs through the boulder stones.  No two stones will look exactly alike because of the wide variety of colors, shapes and sizes.  High-quality Boulder Turquoise stones are difficult to acquire, which adds to the value of this necklace.

The natural lines or fissures in the stone should not be mistaken for cracks.  This stone is in its natural, intact form.
