Hello and welcome to Marc's Gallery. All of the Native American art I sell is 100% authentic. This item is Navajo Handmade sandpainting art on pottery. It measures 6 1/2 inches x 4 inches. It comes with a small photo of the artist Alberta Tsosie. The Navajo believe that everything in life is delicately balanced. If anything happens to upset that balance, then a ceremony must be performed to restore and renew that balance. Sandpainting is an integral part of the Navajo religion and is used by medicine men/women to perform rites or to give blessings that bring good fortune to the Navajo people.
