Ebay's new "search experience" called Best Match now decides for buyers what you will and won't see when you're perusing Native American jewelry. Ebay has decided that you would rather see cheap, mass produced jewelry (much of it foreign made and represented as Native American) rather than high quality and/or unique items and intentionally disadvantages the very best items (if you use the Best Match search) by generally hiding the best items in the bottom half of the search pages so that you'll probably never see them. If you want to see the best quality Native American jewelry or any other category of item the way you used to, then you must customize you search setting to "Ending Soonest" which used to be the default search setting before ebay introduced "Best Match." "Best Match" definitely isn't best if you're a collector or a discerning buyer who prefers quality over junk. I sell great Native American jewelry in all price ranges. I don't sell second hand (unless it's pristine quality dead pawn) or stolen merchandise, and unless ebay's sometimes glitchy lisitng platforms have double listed a single item, I don't sell things I don't have in stock and then expect the folks in Gallup to whip something up in a day or two. True white turquoise is a gemological turquoise that comes only from the Dry Creek mining complex in northern Nevada which is home to the original Dry Creek, Godber, and Burnham mines. The white calcite and aluminite stones are called White or Sacred Buffalo, and interestingly this stone does come from the same mountain as Dry Creek turquoise -- nevertheless it's not turquoise. A few years ago, Dry Creek was the hottest variety of contemporary turquoise on the market. The tragedy struck about five or six years ago when the mine owner was killed when he accidentally impaled himself with his equipment. His widow has never re opened the Dry Creek mines, and no one knows whether she ever will. The owner's agent has been releasing very small quantities of what had been mined before the accident so what he has and whatever was already in the pipeline is all there is presently or may ever be. The color of Dry Creek turquoise runs from the palest of robin's egg blues to a pale robin's egg blue and occasionally a pale sky blue. Some stones have little or no matrix while others display a golden yellow to a dark red or brown matrix. What's unusual about this stone is its extremely rare spiderweb matrix. This size 6½ ring features a pale ¾" by ½" robin's egg blue oval natural Dry Creek Godber Valley rare spiderweb stone with well defined areas and molasses brown spiderweb matrix. It's mounted in a partially engraved and scalloped deep shadowbox overlaid bezel that measures 1 and 1/16th" by 13/16ths." The bezel is mounted on a triple split hand stamped shank which narrows to just slightly less than 1/8th" in width. I was only able to find a few of these stones to have made into rings, and when they're gone, they're gone. No collection is complete without at least one piece of extremely rare and valuable authentic Dry Creek white turquoise. Size 6½.
