Viva La Resistance is part of a four mission module I’m working on. I’m releasing the missions as they are completed. This mission has been play tested and received several positive comments. Several Viva missions have been sold and I've received good feedback on the mission and the Module project.

Viva La Resistance places your squad in a semi-quiet sector of the front line in France. Your squad is ordered to make contact with French Resistance fighters who arranged to link up with U.S. forces in order to pass off a downed B-17 officer that needs to be escorted through friendly lines.

Along with your normal choice of weapons your squad will be issued Rifle Grenades and two adapters. Rules on the use of these are included with the mission.

You also receive 14 new soldier cards printed on hard cardstock

6 pages of new paragraphs and 2 conditions also printed back to back on hard card stock. I introduce one very minor vehicle (a horse drawn wagon), I include a counter for this vehicle (while supplies last).

WARNING: This is a long mission as far as time to complete is concerned. Quite a lot of game time is spent in Rounds instead of operations, which as you know slows things down. This mission can also turn deadly real quick. If you're using a squad built up during the course of the entire series be extra cautious, don’t win at all costs. Proper tactics will aid you during this mission.

As I said earlier the module is titled FOLLOW ME! I decided to follow along the lines of the MOVE OUT module title instead of PURPLE HEART and SILVER STAR because a module named MEDAL OF HONOR better be damned good and BRONZE STAR didn’t sound good enough and yes I know the DSC is in there as well but it sounded odd. I’m currently working (slowly) on a mission, which requires me to make a half map, which is not my most talented area (if there’s anyone out there with the skills that can do it on the cheap let me know how much, it’s taking me forever and a day).

Long term plans: I’m currently researching two modules. One puts you in charge of non-American non-British troops. This was my initial goal but I work on the KISS principal and wanted to cut my teeth on the standard format. The other module will require some more map-making skills which involve water/beach and shingle. My partner... (business not domestic) is also helping me work out the details on building an Ambush Module that has nothing to do with WW 2. All this is contingent on the success of these first missions and modules. My partner is also preparing an Ambush accessory pack release. This accessory pack will have new counters that are thicker and easier to pick up, there will also be larger charts that are easier to read.

This mission may be played on VASSAL. If you are not sure what VASSAL is give it a Google. If you play old war games you will be in heaven.
