DESCRIPTION: Limited edition of 325 numbered & signed copies printed by the Incline Press (of a total edition of 350 copies). Bound by hand. The typographer and designer Elizabeth Friedlander designed the type face Elisabeth for Bauer, and is also known for her Monotype and Linotype ornaments, and her patterns for Curwen. This biography of Friedlander based on her own work books, letters, documents, & testimony of friends offers a huge exemplary sweep of artistic design areas including: calligraphy, bookplates, masthead designs, devices, ornaments, & patterned papers.
