This unique device makes quick work of picking jobs that would take forever by hand. It attaches to a cordless or corded hi-speed drill and is very similar to picking devices that are sold in big name hunting supply and other catalogs. The main difference is that ours features an improved design which corrects specific shortcomings of the others -- and -- ours costs less too!

Many users just couldn't get the other units to work because of several design flaws. We set out to eliminate those flaws, and ended up with a device that makes it possible to pick even the smallest, most delicate birds like dove and snipe, while still having the backbone needed to tackle tougher jobs like chickens, geese and even turkey. The key to this new versatility is longer, more flexible fingers which allow a wider range of picking force that can easily be regulated by the amount of pressure used when pressing the bird against the field of spinning fingers. And -- with a picking path more than twice the width of the others -- the job is done in less than half the time! An average size duck can be stripped in less than 60 seconds and even big geese are picked clean in just a couple of minutes. It can even handle those pesky pin feathers. The biggest wing feathers are more easily removed by hand, but other than that, there are no limitations to this super efficient device.

There are many ways to make your drill stationary, so that you have both hands free to direct the bird. You can strap, clamp, tie or bungee it to a work bench, picnic table, tail gate or milk crate. While in the field you can zip tie it to a piece of 1" by 1" lumber, slip one end in the receiver of your trailer hitch, then pull up a five gallon bucket for a seat and go to work! As you might guess, this is not something you want to use in the living room. This baby really makes the feathers fly but with proper placement of a large garbage can, you can cleanly catch the majority of feathers soon after they leave the bird, thus limiting the fallout to a small area.

The picker works best on dry feathers/birds. So if you are used to scalding your chickens or other birds before picking, you can now skip that unpleasant step entirely. Not only does this increase your time savings but it also avoids the inevitable burns and mess associated with scalding.

Everything from diminutive dove to big tom turkeys can be made oven ready in short order with a minimum of effort once you get the feel of the device. If you have a big pile of birds, you may find that a corded hi-speed drill will serve you best under extended use, unless you have extra batteries for the cordless.

Say goodbye to monotonous picking sessions that make bagging a limit seem like a bad thing and eliminate the hassle and danger of dipping birds in boiling water too. With the help of this handy device, cleaning will be quick, safe and more thorough than ever!
