New Gem $1 Star Note in Holder

Star notes are notes that the Bureau of Engraving and Printing uses to replace regular notes that are found defective during the printing process.  You can identify a star note because the serial number ends in a * symbol.  In the 1970s 1 in 50 notes was a star note.   But due to improvements in the printing process, at this time fewer than 1 in 250 notes is a star note.   For the reason of limited production, star notes are prized by collectors.

On this listing you receive one $1 star note in a BCW Deluxe currency holder.   The star note will be a crisp uncirculated note of the seller's choosing.   You may receive any district, series date or serial number.
