80 Ac. PLACER MINING CLAIM IN NEW MEXICO Caballo Mountains Name: Longbottom 1 Description:N1/2 NE1/4 Sect 29 T15S R4W HAVE FUN AND FIND SOME GOLD! This auction is for the entire purchase price. High bid is the price for the claim! Please read my feedbacks so that you may bid with confidence. The Caballo Mts. have a rich history in mining stretching back to the Spanish and thru tales of lost indian mines. There are many lost treasure tales about the Caballos, and the whole area is rich with abandoned and active mines. The placer fields were first discovered in 1901, by Encarnacion Silva who tried to keep the location a secret. He worked the placers alone until 1903, but the secret did not last. He revealed the secret in Hillsboro, and the news started a gold rush to the area, that continued being worked on a small scale, until 1941. The gold is derived from gold-bearing quartz veins in the Precambrian granites and schists that have eroded. Bedrock is shallow in many areas and there is an abundance of gravels and gullies to work. Access is good. A well maintained dirt road runs most of the way to the claim, and a rough dirt track runs thru the claim. It was passable last time I was there, but no guarantees- you may have to hike or do some repairs. If it was easy to get to the gold would be gone. There is many places for a camper or RV to pull off of the main road. The Rio Grande is less than a half mile from the claim and the fishing is great. The claim is less than 30 minutes to Truth or Consequences and about 75 minutes to Las Cruces. Both of these metropolitan areas offer restaurants, lodging, and supplies. Please ask your questions before the auction ends, and understand what a placer mining claim is before bidding. You will be bidding for the mineral rights only, not the land itself. You can camp on it or stay in a wheeled vehicle, but you can not build permanent structures. A mining claim is real property. You can sell it, give it away, use it as loan collateral, or pass it on to your heirs. It is yours as long as you meet the annual filing requirements. Currently, by Sept 1 of each year, you must either pay the BLM $140 or if you have fewer than 10 claims you can file a small miners waiver and pay $10. This will be explained in detail to the auction winner. All Fees have been paid until Sept 1, 2010 To the winning bidder I will supply: A quit claim deed Topo maps of the area Directions Instructions on maintaining your claim All of the forms you will need There is a $249 document transfer fee! This fee is used to defray the cost of BLM fees, county fees, notary fees, supplies, and postage. I will make sure the transfer is done right and smoothly. Please do not bid on this claim if you do not have the funds available. Payment will be due within 3 days of auctions end. You must have a Pay Pal account to bid. If you have fewer than 3 feedbacks contact me first, before bidding, with good contact information. This is for my protection against people who create phoney usernames on Ebay and then bid with no intention of paying- costing me time and money. I reserve the right to remove any bids, and to halt the auction. |
