About Salwar Kameez:
Salwar Kameez AKA Punjabi Suit is the traditional dress of North India/Pakistan and has spread throughout South Asia and around the world. It consists of the kameez(tunic or kurta), salwar (loose fitting pants or trousers) and dupatta (stole or shawl). Depending on the fabric, cut and decoration it can be casual or elegant, demure or sexy. The chudidar kameez is a variation where the salwar are cut much longer and slimmer than usual so they bunch around the ankles in horizontal folds(chudi). Sometimes they are also very slim fitting in the thigh area and I will note this in the individual listing.
SIZING - IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Unlike Western clothing, usually salwar kameez are tailored to fit so there are no size tags or fabric tags. Letter sizes given are only an approximation - it is imperative that you base the fit on your actual body measurements and not letter size. I do my best to give all measurements accurately and will not be held responsible if it does not fit. Fabrics do not have any give or stretch so it is important to allow enough leeway in measurements(2") for comfort. So if your bust measurement is 36" then you should wear a kameez measuring 38" around the bust. If the kameez is lined then subtract another 1/2" otherwise it may be too tight. All measurements are taken on the outside of the garment. Salwar length given is outseam, not inseam. There are no fabric tags but I do my best to give the fabric content as it was given to me when I bought the salwar kameez. All salwar are stitched and ready made, no unstitched SKs available.
Please note: All items are shipped from a pet-free/tobacco-free home. I do like to burn Tibetan herbal incense so occasionally fabric items may retain an incense smell - this should go away after airing for a while and/or washing/dry cleaning. I do my best to describe all items as accurately as I can but rarely I may miss a small defect, especially if an item is described as 'gently used'. If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason please email me before leaving neutral or negative feedback - I want my customers to be satisfied and am always willing to work out a deal.
