Pre-Bonsai

The New Zealand Tea Tree is known for its tiny leaves and tiny carnation like pink / pinkish red flowers.

The tree in the photo is the tree you will receive. This prebonsai is just over 9 inches tall from the soil line and has a 9 inch by 8 inch foliage spread.  This particular plant is growing at a slant.  You can straighten the tree up when you pot it or use the slant in your design.  This prebonsai is currently potted in a 6 inch diameter by 6 inch tall nursery pot with nursery soil.

These are decorative, small bonsai.  There is alot of color in the foliage and the small carnation style flowers just add to their appeal.  They look much better in person, pictures really don't do them justice.

Care Instructions:  Keep the soil evenly moist during summer, especially when flowering. Mist spray the foliage but avoid wetting the flowers if you want them to last longer. Fertilize from late spring to early autumn, feeding every two or three weeks with a weak liquid fertilizer. In winter feed only every four to five weeks as long as it is still producing new growth. Use a well draining, acid potting mix with extra peat moss added. The New Zealand Tea Tree is sensitive to root disturbance so only repot every couple of years and be as gentle as possible with the roots.
