Item specifics
Condition: NewNecklace Style: Graduated
Material: Jade or Jasper

This is a brand new, multi colored gemstone necklace that was originally purchased in Bejing for 388 Yuan which converts at today's rates at more than $56.  It is in an especially nice leather (?) box from a shop called JADE GARDEN.  The  attached price tag says the shop is located in the BEIJING BOWLDER-FORREST JEWELRY PLAZA.  Jade comes in all colors, though I don't know for certain that it is all jade.  It could be jasper or other gemstones, but most likely jade.  It is made up of a strand of small balls and then squares in graduating sizes.  It measures about 17" long and has a magnetic clasp.  It is definitely in gift giving condition.

BIDDING TIPS

Watch List: I've noticed over the years that more and more bidders are putting items on their WATCH List and then they wait until the very end to bid. There are advantages and disadvantages to this approach. The advantage is that you are not driving up the price by bidding with your competition. The disadvantage is that bidders often forget to keep track of their watched items and find out too late that the item sold for less than you would have been willing to pay, or it didn't sell at all and you could have had it for the minimum bid.

The solution to this dilemma is to bid just the mimimum bid early on. This doesn't prevent you from also bidding at the end, and it doesn't drive up the price because it is just the minimum. Also, if you tend to lose track of what is on your WATCH LIST , then you wouldn't have to worry about losing an item that receives no other bids because you would already have bid. Even the most careful bidder can have an unforseen interruption that prevents him/her from bidding and lose the item altogether.

Decide on your maximum If you must bid at the very end, bid that maximum right off.  If you really bid your maximum, you won't need to feel bad if the item was outbid. Someone else may seem to have outbid you by so little, but you don't know how high the other bidder was willing to go.
