Driven by the new NextG High Speed High Power RF Amplifier USB2.0 WiFi dongle, this handy and high performance USB-Yagi directional antenna delivers a remarkable 1000mW+ horse power at a top speed of 300Mbps.
Unlike most Yagi antennas with long broom and numerous director elements, the design of the NextG USB-Yagi aims at reducing the length of the overall antenna whilst exceeding the isotropic gain with a wider RF aperture to pick up the WiFi signal nearby and afar, blending the best of both worlds.
It is also slim and light weight that you could carry it in a traveller bag.
  The NextG USB-Yagi delivers a remarkable horse power of exceeding +30dBm in the direction it is pointing with a HPBW beaming aperture of 56 degree. See the power difference in the diagram on the left.
From a technical standpoint, no antenna could be designed with purely trial and error. We use computer-aided-design to engineer the seamless integration of the BALUN ( driving element) and the USB dongle, a critical differential advantage for perfect impedance matching to maximize the signal transmission and penetration without incurring loss in coaxial cable.
As a result, it instantly improves your computer's WiFi reception capability beyond the built-in standard factory gear. It works within minutes. Simply plug in the USB cable of the NextG USB-Yagi antenna to the laptop or desktop PC and follow a few simple clicks for CD-ROM driver installation - there is absolutely no need to worry about the cable compatibility issue.

| Design Tips. Why external dongle rather than internal? |
We could hide the dongle inside the antenna but this is not going to give you any protection for outdoor application particularly during raining and thunderstorm.
The reason for this is that lightning could induce electric shocks through the USB cable and could subsquently damage the terminating equipment.
The external dongle offers the flexibility of cascading an optional lightning arrestor between the antenna and the USB dongle. You may also connect it to a RF amplifier in case you need more horse power in the future. |
What's more? The USB-Yagi can be set up to operate in either the Station or Access Point mode. This allows you to use one USB-Yagi to pick up the remote WiFi Internet and re-distribute it to the other WiFi computer clients using another USB-Yagi at High Speed. Typical application is to pick up WiFi signal from ashore in a boat and let other computers share the Internet.
