A great old cap with the R.F.D.71 on it. That would be Rural Fire District number 71, back from when there were no street addresses but homes and businesses were located this way. As a matter of fact, it was this way in many small Montana towns until fairly recently, probably still is. Old Butte, Montana, sat on the richest hill on earth, from the zillons of dollars of precious metals that were excavated in and around (and underneath) the old town. Milk was a valuable commodity in Butte as the water there has been tainted with toxic metals from all the mining activity. There were quite a few early day creamery's and dairies in Butte, the Rainbow Dairy was just one of them. This cap was found as part of a cache in an old barn in SW Montana. A choice colorful old milk cap, check it out! Terms of Sale: Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction so please completely read the item description and ask any questions before bidding or buying.
