Offered is this charming porcelain china fish, possibly a koi, marked with a deer and the words: Bone china Toki Kaisha Nippon. This is a Noritake mark that dates to 1935. The fish figure is vibrant pink at the head, fading to pastel pink, then white, on the belly and tail. Side fins appear to have been molded separately then attached to the base, as do seashells on the ocean floor. This is lovely and delicate porcelain, with the fish captured in a swimming motion. It would have been made in Japan. The fish measures 8.75 inches (22.2 cm) from nose to tail. It stands 5 inches tall (12.8 cm). This fine porcelain figurine is in very good condition. No chips, cracks or other damage. Questions welcomed. Thanks for looking. |
