Records need to be maintained in a clean condition in order to sound their best and to preserve the quality of their fragile surfaces. Record cleaning devices operate on a number of different theories and principles, but they all have one thing in common:  they do NOT totally clean all the pollutants from record grooves; they leave film, grease, residue, micro dust, static electricity, carbon fiber hair, and mold release compounds behind.  These remaining pollutants prevent music lovers from hearing all the music on the record (regardless of the quality of the playback system), and they cause premature wear of the record and phono stylus.

Records cleaned on a Nitty Gritty system reproduce all the music stored in their grooves without the interference and masking of record pollutants.  The improvement in sound that a Nitty Gritty cleaning makes is so dramatic that the benefit of upgrading one component of a hi-fi system is less significant by comparison.  The Nitty Gritty record cleaning system has established itself as an essential component in every hi-fi system.

The Model 2.5 Special Edition offers a semi-automatic cleaning system  with cherry wood side panels. There is automatic scrubbing, automatic rotation and a slide-out waste fluid tray. The 2.5 comes complete with fluid and necessary parts for immediate operation.

Shipping

We ship up to 6 times per week so your items will normally be shipped within 30 hours of receiving payment.  Please take into consideration that weekends and holidays can delay shipping time.

International shipping rates are available upon request.  I prefer mailing via priority but first class mail is an option.

Records, books and other media items are normally shipped via media mail for a flat $4 rate. Priority and express mail for these items are available options. Sheet music and most other items have a "ship by weight" method. 

Do you offer shipping/handling discounts?   Of course!  Your 2nd - 4th records/books are $2.00 each - your 5th item ships free!  Other like items are discounted similarly.

Insurance

Insurance is optional on all items under $25.  It is required on items $25 or more except for those that are shipped free.  It is optional and your can purchase it if you receive an invoice.

78rpm shipping:  It is highly recommended that you purchase insurance when buying these irreplaceable vintage pieces even though each record is placed in a vinyl sleeve then taped between two cardboard sheets.   This is then wrapped in bubble wrap and secured in a 200 lb test box. If additional fill is needed, it will be used.
