This is for a NOISELESS brand typewriter. I think it was later taken over by Remington but am not sure of my typewriter history but one of you collectors will know. I know very little about this sort of thing and bought it at an estate sale of an attorney in Stockton Kansas. His name was Robert Osborne and he left his letterhead in the machine which comes with it. I think it is pretty complete but don't know for sure as the carriage comes out of it and I don't know how to hook it up. For sure it will need some restoration to work again or could be used for parts. It looks pretty good and a corner of the Creosotine cover needs to be glued down and the leather handle has given way but I have enough for a pattern that I will include. One unusual thing (to me) is the paper roller is made of metal rather than the usual rubber. I think this is from around 1919 as I remember seeing one advertised in a vintage magazine from around that time. Write with any questions and I will try to answer them as best I can but this is NOT my collecting field. Thanks for looking and Good Luck Shipping is 10 pounds Parcel Post shipping with insurance included in shipping & handling (but that is all), and I will combine listings for postal savings for you on this piece. There ARE NO charges for packing and wrapping but are always just the postage & insurance the USPS charges. If I miss the weight it comes out of MY pocket not yours. People STILL keep hitting me down in on the shipping in feedback which is a mystery to me as I OFTEN ship Priority which is a bit more expensive but on fragile items much more likely to arrive in one piece. THESE COSTS ARE FOR YOUR PROTECTION! Please understand that. This item may weigh out as much as 15 ounces less than the indicated weight BUT the USPS rounds UP the weight to the greatest pound over that additional ounce. This is true whether Priority or Parcel Post - this is NOT my doing. I spend a lot on bubble wrap and am glad to offer it for FREE but am at a loss as to why I am being consistently down rated on the cost of the postage and handling which I have NO control over. |
