M = Magenta = Noodler’s Shah’s Rose
Y = Yellow = Noodler’s Yellow
K = Black = Noodler’s Bulletproof Black
These inks are all U.S. made and boast Archival, Anti-Forgery and Anti-Feathering features & tendencies (see below). The ink is specifically designed for fountain pen use but brushes and other delivery methods are appropriate.
Why is it called "Noodler's"?
The manufacturer considers this ink the best and most cost effective ink on the market for fountain pens. The product is 100% U.S. made from cap to glass to ink. The catfish on the label is a metaphor for a southern fishing sport that attempts to equalize the struggle between man and animal in the quest for a sense of fair play...and symbolizes for Noodler’s a fair price.
Colors
Noodler’s provides over 100 colors of ink for your fountain pen plus some specialty inks. We attempt to have all the colors in stock and in our eBay store, GreenMan508.
Bulletproof
Not all Noodler’s inks are waterproof but those that are marked “Bulletproof” display the qualities of Noodler’s “Bulletproof” Black, being impervious to water, bleach, and light -- fraud-proof. This Bulletproof quality results from a chemical interaction between the ink and paper, but the ink will easily rinse off pen parts with water.
Archival Quality, Anti-Forgery & Anti- Feathering
All Noodler's inks provide some archival qualities. The inks are color-rich with an undiluted quality. Besides providing a written image that will last with your valuable documents, the intensity of Noodler’s inks makes forgery extremely difficult. (Noodler’s even has a $1,000 reward for the first person that can safely remove Noodler's [black] ink from a security bank check). Ink feathering resistance is also a priority for Noodler's -- thus with their ink you can use it on newspaper crossword & Sudoku puzzles, most recycled smooth papers, and even cardboard, industrial brown paper, rice paper and tissue thin papers from the Far East.
For New and Vintage Fountain Pens
Noodler’s is very proud of the qualities their inks provide. Some of these qualities relate to how Noodler’s inks interact with the mechanics of your pen. These inks are designed for use with any fountain pen – new or vintage. Any brand of ink can attack pen parts because all inks generally are corrosive agents. Noodler’s technology has lessened this factor to protect the value of your writing instruments. For example aluminum has been used in many pen brands over the years and still today. Aluminum is relatively unstable with exposure to many ink brands… Noodler’s is friendly to aluminum [and other pen materials]. Test your non-Noodler ink with a piece of aluminum foil – leave the ink in contact with the foil overnight and see what the results are. You better replace your ink with Noodler’s if your ink eats the aluminum foil (vintage & some European inks currently made are conspicuous culprits).
