This fantastic cup, saucer and plate trio set was made by the famous Noritake porcelain manufacturers, from Japan. It was produced during the early 20th Century and is typically ’Art Deco’ in style. Each item is decorated with panels featuring exotic birds, floral motifs and patterned banding, picked out in vibrant colours and surrounded by gilded designs, on a white ground. The set is hand painted and is finished in high quality gloss glaze.
Marks & Backstamps
The set is marked with the printed 'Noritake' backstamp, please scroll down to the photograph below.
Condition & Size
There is some minor gilt rubbing to the cup handle but this is common for a piece of this vintage. Otherwise, the set is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration. The cup measures approximately 2¼” in height and the saucer and plate measure 5¼” and 6¼" in diameter, respectively.
