Noritake Handled Sugar TOKI KAISHA Grey PINK ROSES Gold

This elegant handled sugar bowl is made of fine translucent porcelain and is similiar to the Rosemont pattern but lacking the laurel border. The front and back of the sugar bowl have a large transfer design of a pink rose with a bud at the side and foliage. The flattened top edge of the bowl is a delicate light grey color with the center left white and decorated with molded stylized leaves and a fancy finial. The elegant handles are shaped with a little inside curl at the top and a molded leaf terminal at the bottom. The handles are lined on the edges and down the center with gold. The outer edge of the grey top, the edge of the lid, the fancy finial and molded base, and the bottom edge are all lined or decorated with lustrous gold. The bottom of the sugar bowl is marked with a scroll with "N" on the inside and "Noritake" in script above and "Nippon Toki Kaisha" below and was probably made in the late 1940's or 1950s.

Measurements: Ample, about 3½" (11.4cm) tall to the top of the finial x 5" (12.5cm) in diameter across the flat top x 3¼" (8cm) in diameter across the foot.

Condition: Very nice, it doesn't look like its been used much if at all. There is a tiny darker spot on the gold line around the outer edge of the grey area, but I think it was made that way.
