Noritake` Very Heavily Gilded Trio
Description: A beautiful, very heavily gilded trio, made by Noritake` China, at their Nagoya works in Japan. Their green, 1908* registered backstamp is on each piece.
Condition: Simply Stunning - free from scratches, chips, cracks and crazing. The pattern is in perfect condition, with no wear that I can see. The trim gilding is as new, with only a very small usage rub (approx 0.5% wear) on the cup handle. There is no other wear evident. A truly superb trio in immaculate condition.
Size: Gilded Cup: 6.8cms tall & 8.5cms across. Saucer: 14.2cms across. Octagonal Side plate: 17.5cms across the diagonal.
Decor: Probably the most gilding I've ever seen on a trio. Gilded maroon, floral cartouches are surrounded by a peach background, which has been overlaid by very fine gilding. Between the cartouches there are gilt triangle sections, which back onto a 7mm gold outer band.
The flower heads that droop from these triangular sections and are also in the centrepiece of the side plate are opaque in colour, which gives the appearance of pearl inlays.
The gilding has such depth, that when a finger rubs over it, it feels like braille. The outer band rolls over the edges to complete the rich trim gilding.
I've written quite a lengthy description, but believe me this trio is far better than the photos and the description. It's Noritake at its finest. Around 100 years old and in spectacular condition. Truly one for the collectors.

Many Victorian items are without a back mark. I am not an antiques dealer, but try to be as accurate as possible in all of my listings. I research makers and time of manufacture in purpose bought reference books as much as time allows. However if you are unsure or don't understand what you're looking at, then it's best if you don't bid.
NB: I try very hard to be as accurate as possible, but I do not use callipers. All measurements stated should be taken as approximates.
Don't forget to notify me of your purchase via the checkout function. My banking details can be found there also.
Paypal is the only method of payment for international buyers.
Please take the time to give feedback, but if there are any problems be sure to discuss it before leaving negative feedback. This is after all supposed to be a pleasant experience.
