Northwood Purple Peacock and Urn - Rare Carnival Glass
Estate Fresh from a private collection and in Excellent condition
|
Rare, large, 10-1/2 inch, purple...looks like deep oxblood.... Northwood Peacock and Urn Chop Plate from 1910
-1912. It has been in this collection for 45 years. As you can see in the pictures, it has absolutly georgous
iridescence and color. This piece is perfect, with no chips, cracks or repairs. It has very tiny "pin head bumps"
that were in the making....seen in the pictures...no harm to this rare piece. Also, there is one tiny (and I do mean
tiny..I mic'd it at 1.14mm) spot that might be a fleabite on the scalloped edge. I still consider this RARITY a
perfect piece. Marked with the underlined N in a circle. It has 20 scallops.
These Peacock chop plates, especially with this much color, seldom ever turn up. NOTE: This is not the more
common ice cream bowl...it is the much more desirable and rare chop plate.
A real centerpiece for your collection!!
The reserve price is set at about fourth of the book price!!!!!!!
These pictures were taken outside in full shade...they were cropped and re-sized for ebay, but otherwise are
untouched....the piece is every bit as beautiful as these pictures!
Shipping charges include insurance coverage.
