Nouveau Silver Overlay
GDA France White Pitcher
Bow Top

Gorgeous Old Piece
~ NEAR MINT ~
Never Used!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Measures approx 11.75" from
tip of the lid bow to the bottom,
on a 3.75" round base. The divided
melon form is highlighted by each
of the eight silver floral decorations.
The Art Nouveau ribbon trim is below
the approx 2.25" wide silver band at
the top, which continues inside the
rim, on the bow, and on the handle.
I've not polished the silver
overlay, but it will shine up
beautifully with a soft
polishing cloth.
There are six tiny places around
the bottom where the white is
not covered with silver, two on
the lid, one on the rim, and two
on the handle.
These are only seen if you study
the piece carefully, as the shine
and reflection of the silver mask
any flaws. The decoration on the pot,
as shown in the photos of the handle,
is missing one silver tendril. This
was undoubtedly done during the
mfg process.
Marks are shown in the photo below.
Green GDA over France mark
that was used by the
Gerard, Dufraisseix and Abbot
company from 1900 to 1941.
A charming addition to any table
for lemonade, tea, or your drink
of choice. And of course, filled
with flowers, it would be a
beautiful vase.
