9" Long by 1 3/4" High by 2 1/2" Wide
Weight 9 ounces

Lying on the shore after bathing in the sea, the Oceanid nymph Perseis, wife to the sun God Helios, rolls on to her stomach, dips her head to spread out her long hair to dry, and crosses her dainty feet at the ankles. Relaxing as her husband's warm rays stroke her back , she looks sideways from under a curtain of hair, smiling in pleasure.


Perseis was the beautiful daughter of the Titans, Oceanus and Tethys, and married Helios who drove the chariot of the Sun. From their union came Circe, the sorceress Goddess, Pasiphae, Queen of King Minos of Crete and King Aeetes of Colchis, who married the youngest and last of the Oceanids, Idyia.

Hand carved and finished from pulverized, molded marble, this original statue is designed by, and made exclusively for, DesignMystique.
