Up for auction here is a great looking polychrome (colored) , circa 1920s to 1950s African carved wood figure of a nude woman.  This figure measures 3 1/4 inches in diameter by just over 11 inches in height.  There is no signature and we do not know what tribe or region of Africa that this sculpture originates from.  There is some loss and wear to the blue or light purple paint on the head dress. There is also a chip of wood off of the top left side on the back of the headdress. There are also several small , old worm holes most noticable on the right facing leg , on the left facing side of the head and the back of the right arm. There is a tiny shrink crack on the base to the left of the left foot. A couple of chips and wear on the left breast.  It has a nice aged patina and does not look like it has been cleaned.  Some of these old African sculptures can be quite valuable. If someone can narrow this down to an exact period and tribe you might have a nice treasure on your hands. Good luck bidding.
