As I studied about the Buddha amulet. The original or first purpose to make or consecrated Buddha Image was to be  the symbol of Buddhist Religion , people would be  realized about Dharma of Buddha, to do good, not do bad.

But everything  was changed include the purpose to

make or consecrated Buddha Image.

I can conclude that there are many purposes such as

1. when the temple has important events example celebrate new Buddhist sanctuary , sermon hall in a monastery, gable apex  etc.

 

2. for celebrating  Abbot's Birthday especially old abbot age 50,60,70,80,90  years

 

3. for celebrating when Abbot got higher fan of rank

 

4. for collecting money to develop or build something at the temple

 

5. for souvenir when the temple has religious ceremony

 

6. for amulet which depend on ability or knowledge of guru monk who consecrated the image ex for love attraction, for wealthy, for protect bad evils etc.
