PENTRE, TON & YSTRAD-RHONDDA

SHEET 18.14

This map is taken from the 1/2500 plans and reprinted at about 14 inches to the mile, it is highly detailed and covers an area of about one and a half square miles, and shows individual houses, railway tracks, factories, churches, mills,  signal posts, pathways, sheds, wells, etc. 

It also includes historical notes of the area.

Map Details

Features include Maendy Farm, Maendy Hall, Capel Caersalem, Taff Vale Railway Rhondda Branch with Ystrad station, Church Quarry, Mynydd yr Eglwys, Bodringallt Colliery, old coal levels, Rhondda Engine Works, Pentre Collieries, Ty'n-y-bedw Colliery, St Peter's church, industrial tramways, etc. On the reverse are 1906 commercial directories for Pentre and Ystrad.
